since i’m spending more time micro blogging than actual blogging… and when i’m doing “actual” blogging, it’s just reblogging other crap (sorry for saying blogging so many times), i’ll post crap here that’s been driving me crazy and i can’t bitch about it in under 140 characters. i mean, that’s what blogs are for, right?
right now, i’m fretting over the fact that it’s like 3 years now and emma frost and cyclops are STILL together and my desire to pick up another x-men book within the past 5 years is nonexistent. people keep saying this is an “unconventional” pairing from the traditional and popular cyclops/jean grey match, but remember… the white queen is a telepath! cyclops has been matched up with emma in fanfiction (but then who hasn’t?). anyway, in random marvel storylines, they have kids here and there and a limited run by chris claremont is going on called GENEXT…. which is so very reminiscent of the defunct/disbanded Generation X series.
around the mid 90’s was a group called Generation X which i latched on because of Jubilee and also a teenage group of x-men that seemed more interesting than x-force. the group was mentored by banshee (rip) and the white queen. the series offered cute quips in the writing, fun interaction, and great pencilling by chris bachalo. there was also lots of indications that a banshee/white queen pairing would happen and that was verrry interesting. eventually the writing went to absolute shit and the series died and there were no hookups.
GENEXT is comprised of young mutant offspring of certain x-men (ie rogue/gambit and cyclops/white queen). it bugs me that scott/emma have a daughter named MEGAN and she is a member of the “next generation of mutants.”
i would like ANY of the following scenarios to occur:
1.) the return of jean grey (likely, since she is an “omega” level mutant and the phoenix entity. hopefully to drive a wedge between cyclops and white queen.
2.) cyclops dies.
3.) emma dies.
4.) no one dies but cyclops/wq break up.
5.) the most tempting but not likely to happen: jean grey comes back, scott ditches emma, banshee is resurrected, emma becomes happy, the planets align, jean grey and scott are a cheesy married couple and emma and sean are a bickering pair who secretly love each other.
orrrr, i just keep reading the same fanfics from 10 years ago over and over and try not to care so intensely about fictional comic book characters.
