Making Time with Web Browsers
1. Tonight I learned the real meaning of the phrase “making time.” Francis and I were watching the first episode of Twin Peaks and one of the waitresses makes a sensuous sounding comment to Bobby and I didn’t understand what “making time” meant or why it was supposed to be any kind of sexy. Francis explained that it meant “doing it.” Now I know what the song by Creation is about… as well as that Making Time event that is so popular with hipsters and the ilk.
2. I haven’t been keeping up with iGoogle lately, but they have incorporated more themes for your personalized homepage. I understand it’s bulk but I love it. I had been using the Teahouse theme for months and it’s time for a change (although hopefully brief). Note that they have LOTS more themes than the first time I checked, months ago. I really like “Solar System” so far, but I’m hoping to find something cute to complement my Foxkeh Firefox theme.
3. I don’t know if I ever mentioned Flock browser but it’s one of the alternative browsers that I’ve been testing. I like its connections to other social networking sites like Flickr, Facebook, and YouTube, but I ditched it because it always opened that stupid page in addition to my homepage (no, I haven’t tried looking for the setting to disable it, I think it’s just annoying in general) and it was slow opening new pages. I liked it’s instant upload to Photobucket, though. I can live without it. It also wasn’t skinnable.
4. I still use Shiira browser because it’s a lighter and “better” version of Safari. I like Safari a lot, but there’s not “Add new tab” button. Anyway, Shiira failed me when it didn’t have “View Selection Source” and I couldn’t use find in the source code for a webpage. I still use it, though. I love the icon!
